VISA and Student Mode

If you intend to study or take part in other educational activities in the Czech Republic, as a third-country national you must obtain a visa or residence permit. Remember that you must obtain the document in advance before you arrive in Czechia. It is not possible to apply for a visa upon arrival or even to collect a visa you have already applied for.

Selected countries partake in the Student Facilitation Program (= Student Mode, "Režim student"), which facilitates immigration procedures for students admitted at major Czech universities, including ours. The programme is beneficial for students applying for a long-term immigration document. For more information see the website of Czech MFA.

For successful inclusion in Student Mode, the following conditions must be met:

1. Proof of language proficiency (not required for students who have completed the program in the English language, also does not apply for English native speakers).

2. Evidence that no more than 3 years have passed since the date of completion of the previous education (starting from the date of issue of the diploma).

Please email both of the above documents to Graduate Student & Research Services.
