The 14th Postgraduate and Postdoctoral Scientific Conference was held at the Faculty of Pharmacy on January 30 and 31, 2024. The conference was traditionally opened with a joint section in which Assoc. Prof. Veronika Nováková and Prof. Michal Holčapek described, in a very inspiring way, their exciting stories that preceded gaining prestigious ERC-CZ and ERC Advanced grants. Both lectures were captivating and highlighted that even repeated grant application rejections and several years of project preparation and improvements should not discourage young scientists from trying to achieve the highest goals. The section was completed by a lecture by Prof. František Švec, aiming at the critical steps in preparing a manuscript of scientific work to be likely accepted in a high-end journal.
The conference was divided into five sessions: Bioorganic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry; Clinical and Social Pharmacy; Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Toxicology; Pharmaceutical Analysis; and Pharmaceutical Technology. Our graduate students presented 73 lectures, followed by ten lectures from young scientists. The high quality of presentations and subsequent discussions should be appreciated.
For a second time, the "František Švec Prize in Analytical Chemistry" awarded the best students presentations in the Pharmaceutical Analysis section. The committee of Prof. Ing. František Švec, Dr.Sc., Assoc. Prof. PharmDr. Hana Sklenářová, Ph.D. and Assoc. Prof. PharmDr. Radim Kučera, Ph.D., selected the following presentations as the best:

After the conference and the announcement of the prize winners, an informal meeting of students and supervisors took place in the pleasant premises of the Gallery Na Mostě.
We believe the conference was a source of inspiration and motivation for further scientific work for all participants.
