Extraordinary measures of the Ministry of Health with effect from November 17th 2020

18/11/2020

With effect from 17 November 2020, the Ministry of Health issued an extraordinary measure concerning border crossing.

This regulation in particular:

  • introduced a uniform method of reporting stays longer than 12 hours in the last 14 days in the territory of countries that are not on the list of countries with a low risk of COVID-19, by filling in the electronic arrival form, which must be filled in before arrival in the Czech Republic. The information will be received by the regional hygienic stations via an electronic form. For journeys to / from the Czech Republic for urgent medical, family, business or work reasons, the possibility to travel without the obligation to fill in the form and undergo the test is extended from 12 to 24 hours, due to more efficient use of this exception, when in many cases 12 hours is not feasible.
  • imposes on employers of citizens of countries that are not on the list of countries with a low risk of COVID-19 or countries designated under point III.1 who have spent more than 12 hours in the last 14 days in the territory of these countries (...) to prevent the entry of these persons to all establishments and workplaces of the employer unless these persons submit to the employer a negative RT-PCR test for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 from the Czech Republic, or according to point III.5; the same obligation applies to educational institutions in relation to students and teachers.

With effect from 18 November, Government Resolution No. 1191 is effective, which, however, does not change anything significant for teaching at universities.
