Project aim
Main aims of the project are complex preparation and pilotage of the new internal grant scheme at Charles University. CU is aiming to support young researchers and prepare them for the research career using the international cooperation. Overall budget of the programme (internal grant scheme) is expected to support about 115 projects. Priority will be given to the projects with multi-member research teams – aiming to support interdisciplinary research, development of the research and language competencies and the team management competencies of the young researchers. Project of the internal grant scheme also aims to develop internal processes for the grant schemes realized by the CU and to adjust and innovate internal information systems.
Programme START

Principles of the START programme
-
The project proposal can be submitted by the head researcher with an affiliation to the faculty at which they are registered for doctoral studies. Proposals cannot be submitted by a student who has exceeded the standard period of study.
-
Other members of the team also must be registered for doctoral studies.
-
Maximum number of the members of the multi-membered research team is 5 doctoral students (including the main researcher).
-
Each research team shall have its own mentor, who shall provide it with methodological and professional support and assist it in planning individual steps in the project. Mentor is a senior researcher and should be employed at CU, mentor should not be a part of the research team, but as an external professional offers his support to the research team.
