Getting to Hradec Králové

By car

Toll sticker

The fastest option is to use highways, especially D11, if  travelling from Prague. See the map. When using the highway having a toll sticker is required (approx. 12 € for 10 days). The sticker should be placed in the bottom right corner of the windshield, while its other part should be kept by the driver (in the car) and the „registration number of the car“ field should be properly filled. The stickers are usually available at gas stations, Czech Post offices or border crossings. However other roads where no toll is necessary can be used as well.

Please note that the speed limits are 50 km/h in urban areas, 130 km/h on a highway and 90 km/h elsewhere.

Once in Hradec Králové, you can follow the map to the hotel. The location of the Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University is marked, too.

By bus

When travelling from Prague, there is a choice of numerous buses linking our capital city with Hradec Králové. Most of them depart from the Florenc Bus Terminal each 30 to 60 minutes. The journey takes less than 2 hours.

Details can be found in the schedule (English version included):

  • The field „From:“ would be: „Praha,,ÚAN Florenc“
  • while to the field „To“, you can just type: „Hradec Králové“.

To reach Florenc bus terminal from the airport, you have several options.

  • You can board bus No.119 and as far as the station „Dejvická“. There you have to take the underground and reach the bus station „Florenc“ (see map of the underground, line B or C).
  • You can also use special bus line „AE“, which is a little more expensive, however it provides direct connection to the railway station every 30 minutes.

Both bus stops are in front of the Teminal A. We do not recommend using taxi as it may become quite expensive.

In Hradec Králové you arrive at the city bus terminal. Bus No.6 provides direct connection to Hotel Alessandria, the place of your accommodation, every 20 minutes.

By train

If travelling from Prague, you have to reach the city main railway station („Hlavní nádraží“). The easiest way would be to use the Prague underground (vide supra, line C) or the special bus line AE from the airport (vide supra).

In Hradec Králové you arrive at the city main railway station. Bus No.6 provides direct connection to Hotel Alessandria, the place of your accommodation, every 20 minutes.

If not travelling via Prague, make sure you reach the city of Pardubice, where you can change trains easily. Trains to Hradec Králové usually go every 30 minutes.

Direct connection between your hotel and the welcome reception

You can find the way from Hotel Alessandria (the site of accommodation) and Botanical garden of the Faculty of Pharmacy (where welcome reception will be held) on the enclosed map. You can make your way there by foot (approx. 30 minutes) or by bus. If you are using public transport, you can choose between bus No. 23 and bus No. 27. Both of them will take you directly to the bus stop “Zimní stadion” (bus stop is in front of the ice hockey stadium) on the street Ignáta Herrmanna. From there it takes less than 10 minutes to get to the Botanical garden (you have to cross the river Orlice, follow the map).
