At the 39th Annual ACS National Medicinal Chemistry Symposium, held from May 31 to June 3, 2026, in Atlanta, USA, the Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové was represented by Mgr. Eliška Cejnarová, a third-year Ph.D. student in the Bioorganic Chemistry program and a member of the research group led by Assoc. Prof. Jaroslav Roh.
In her poster presentation, “Topobexin: Advancing Selective Topoisomerase IIβ Inhibitors for Cardioprotection,” she presented the results of her research focused on the synthesis and design of selective topoisomerase IIβ inhibitors as potential cardioprotective agents. Despite strong competition from researchers representing leading academic and industrial institutions worldwide, her poster attracted the attention of the expert judging panel and was awarded Best Poster.
This exceptional achievement represents a significant international recognition of the research conducted at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Charles University, and confirms the high quality of work being carried out by our young scientists.
We warmly congratulate Eliška, who is currently undertaking a three-month research internship at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, USA, and wish her many more scientific successes in the future.
