Education Overview
Department of biochemical sciences guarantee in 5 years study program teaching of these biochemical disciplines: General Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Pathological Biochemistry, Xenobiochemistry, Xenobiochemistry – Practical Training, Clinical Biochemistry, and Gene Therapy (together with department of pharmaceutical chemistry and drug control).
Subjects General Biochemistry and Molecular Biology are compulsory, subjects Pathological Biochemistry, Xenobiochemistry, Clinical Biochemistry, and Gene Therapy are electives, subject Xenobiochemistry – Practical Training is optional.

LC-MS (LC Surveyor, LCQ Advantage ion trap mass spectrometer from ThermoFinnigan), FPLC system for the purifi cation of proteins, 3 HPLC systems, ultracentrifuge, System for documentation and densitometric analysis of gels and blots (GelDoc XR, software Quantity One, BioRad).
Accredited laboratories
Laboratory accredited for work with genetically modified organisms (experimental production of recombinant biotransformation enzymes).
