Úvod 8. Postgraduální a 6. Postdoktorandské vědecké konference Farmaceutické fakulty obstarají zahraniční profesoři

23.01.2018

Snaha vytvořit prostor pro prezentace vědeckých výsledků postgraduálních studentů a mladých vědeckých pracovníků vedla před lety k uspořádání interní vědecké konference Farmaceutické fakulty UK. František Švec z University of California, Berkeley, USA a dva zástupci strategických partnerů projektu STARSS prof. Marcela Segundo z University of Porto, Portugalsko a prof. Spas D. Kolev z University of Melbourne, Austrálie.

Since 1997, he was appointed at the University of California, Berkeley (USA) and affiliated with the Molecular Foundry of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He is professor at the Beijing University of Chemical Technology and at Pharmaceutical Faculty of the Charles University in Hradec Kralove (since 2017). He authored over 450 scientific publications (with about 25,000 citations and h-index of 92). He edited 2 books, and authored 75 patents. He is best known for his research in the area of monoliths and their use in applications including liquid chromatography, electro-chromatography, supports for solid phase chemistry, enzyme immobilization, and microfluidics.

He is editor-in-chief of the Journal of Separation Science and Separation Science Plus (both Wiley). He received numerous awards and distinctions for his pioneering work with monoliths including ACS award in Chromatography, A.J.P. Martin gold medal of the UK Chromatographic Society, CASSS award, and many others.

Prof. Marcela A. Segundo, University of Porto, Portugalsko

Researcher at REQUIMTE, Portuguese Government Associate Laboratory for Green Chemistry, Clean Technologies and Processes and Professor Auxiliar at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Porto. Her current research focuses on automation of sample treatment prior to chromatographic analysis, and on development of high-throughput microchemical methods. Her scientific production comprises 11 book chapters, 101 peer-reviewed papers in international journals, with over 1500 citations andh-index 22. In 2012, she was appointed national delegate to the Analytical Chemistry Division of EuCheMS – European Association for Chemical and Molecular Sciences.

M. Segundo was Erasmus+ Local Coordinator (2014-2016) directly cooperating with Germany, Spain, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, Czech Republic, Serbia, and USA. She has been invited Professor at University of Coruña (Spain) and at University of Balearic Islands (Spain).

Prof. Spas D. Kolev, University of Melbourne, Austrálie

Professor of Chemistry at the School of Chemistry of the University of Melbourne. Most of his research is focused on the areas of flow analysis techniques, including paper-based microfluidics, chemical sensors, development of polymer inclusion membranes for separation and/or synthesis of metallic nanoparticles, as well as phytoremediation and phytomining. He has published over 190 refereed articles, 4 book chapters and 1 co-edited book (with over 2800 citations and h-index 26).

He is the Founding Editor-in-Chief of the journal Membranes (MDPI), Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Chemical Sciences (GSTF) and member of the Editorial/Advisory Boards of Analytica Chimica Acta (Elsevier), Talanta (Elsevier), Environmental Modeling and Assessment (Springer), Sensors (MDPI), Challenges (MDPI), and the International Journal of Analytical Chemistry (Hindawi). He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute.
