Magnetické sorbenty pro automatizovanou úpravu vzorků s využitím pokročilých průtokových technik

Emerging organic contaminants (EOC) including pharmaceuticals, pesticides, plasticizers, and daily-product additives are a major concern not only by their impact on environment and living organisms but also in chemical analysis as they are found in low concentrations and complex matrices, which demands improved methodologies for their analysis. Sample preparation is a key part in the analytical process as it makes the sample compatible with the aimed instrumental technique for analyte quantification including matrix removal and analyte preconcentration. For this, solid phase extraction (SPE) is the most frequently used technique but typically done manually in spite of the potential for higher throughput, efficiency, and reliability coming along with automation. This proposal aspires developing new, automated pretreatment methodologies based on SPE and dispersive SPE for the determination of EOC. To treat larger sample volumes and achieve high sensitivity, we aim for using magnetic sorbents, which promise facilitated automated handling and, via enabling smaller particle diameters, improved extraction performance. In this context, novel sorbent material, originating from ionic liquids, known as Group of Uniform Materials Based on Organic Salts will be studied for automated SPE. Modern microfluidic systems Lab-On-Valve and Lab-In-Syringe will be used for procedure automation with online coupling of sample preparation to analyte separation.
