On 28 and 29 January 2025, the 15th Postgraduate Scientific Conference was held at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Charles University in Hradec Kralove. The conference was opened with a lecture "FROM SPIRONUCLEOSIDES TO NATURAL KILLERS: MY JOURNEY IN THE WORLD OF CHEMICAL BIOLOGY," where Ing. Milan Vrábel, Ph.D. from the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the CAS, described in a very impressive way his scientific journey heading to two prestigious ERC grants. The lecture pointed out that winning an ERC requires not only diligence, completely original topics, a high level of innovation and risk, but also many years of effort in preparing the documents, appropriate self-confidence, and luck during the evaluation process. It is great that a scientific group led by such a successful scientist is a partner of our NETPHARM project, which supported this PGS conference.
The conference program was divided into five sessions: Bioorganic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry; Clinical and Social Pharmacy; Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Toxicology; Pharmaceutical Analysis; and Pharmaceutical Technology. Our students and young researchers presented 65 talks on high-quality topics, supported by well-prepared presentations and follow-up by rich discussions.

For the third year, the "František Švec Prize in Analytical Chemistry" was awarded, recognizing the best student presentations in the Pharmaceutical Analysis section. The committee composed of prof. Ing. František Švec, Dr.Sc., Assoc.Prof. PharmDr. Hana Sklenářová, Ph.D., and Assoc.Prof. PharmDr. Radim Kučera, Ph.D., selected the following students this year:
- MSc. Chaweewan Suwanvecho – NEOPTERIN AND CREATINE ANALYSIS IN DRIED URINE SPOTS USING HPLC
- Mgr. Adam Reguli – BIOANALYTICAL STUDY OF A NOVEL POTENTIAL CARDIOPROTECTIVE DRUG

At the end of the conference, the traditional informal meeting of students and supervisors took place in the Na Mostě Gallery.
We believe that the conference was beneficial for all participants and a source of inspiration and motivation for further scientific work.
This conference was supported by the project New Technologies for Translational Research in Pharmaceutical Sciences /NETPHARM, reg. no. CZ.02.01.01/00/22_008/0004607, co-financed by the European Union.
