Aneta Kholová, RNDr, PhD. has been awarded the prestigious international prize by the Dimitris N. Chorafas Foundation in collaboration with the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel for her research on the use of nanofibrous materials as extraction sorbents in the analysis of contaminants in food, food supplements, and the environment.
Aneta Kholová, RNDr, PhD. is a Bioanalytical Methods PhD graduate. She wrote her dissertation entitled "Modern extraction techniques in connection with HPLC for analysis of contaminants." She worked at the Department of Analytical Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. RNDr. Dalibor Šatínský, Ph.D. and consultant PharmDr. Ivony Kolichová, Ph.D. in cooperation with the Institute for Nanomaterials, Advanced Technologies and Innovation in Liberec.
The use of nanofibers, due to the diversity of polymer chemistry, can serve as advanced cleaning procedures not only in the field of sample preparation but also in environmental analysis, food technology, biopharmacy, and biomedical applications as carriers of drugs and other biologically active substances. In all these areas, new techniques of extraction chromatography applications of nanofibers can find a wide range of applications that have a great impact on real life. This innovative approach contributed to the development of analytical chemistry, setting a high standard for future research in this field.
She received the award from the Vice-Rector of Charles University, Prof. Jan Kuklík, at the Scientific Council of Charles University meeting on 28 November 2024.
