Termination of the pandemic alert

05/05/2022

On the 4th May 2022, the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic approved the termination of the pandemic emergency, which allowed, among other things, the issuance of anti-pandemic measures without the need to declare a state of emergency, with regard to the development of the coronavirus epidemic. According to this decision with effect from 5th May 2022, the obligation to wear face masks in medical and social facilities ends (however, the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic still recommends to wear them).

With the termination of pandemic alert, anti-coronavirus measures affecting all residents, whether issued under the Pandemic Act or the Public Health Protection Act, are coming to an end. The possibility of having a preventive test of Covid-19 once a month also ends. Health insurance companies will continue to pay only for tests for which a doctor will issue a request.
