The Placenta in Health and Disease research team has achieved remarkable recognition in the international scientific community for their work on serotonin homeostasis in the placenta. The Carl Ludwig Award is a prestigious prize of the Scandinavian Physiological Society, awarded to a young researcher for outstanding work published in Acta Physiologica.
Dr Karahoda, the first author of this publication, and Prof Frantisek Staud, the team leader, were invited to Stockholm to receive the award from the Editor-in-Chief of Acta Physiologica, Prof Pontus B Persson. This is the first time that the Carl Ludwig Prize is coming to the Czech Republic!
