Over the past few years, the International Council for the Evaluation of Creative Activities at Charles University (CU) has completed an almost two-year comprehensive evaluation of creative activities in faculties and other constituent parts of Charles University. In addition to the results of the actual research from 2014 to 2018, the level and success of doctoral degree programmes, strategies and concepts of research work, and the ability to acquire and successfully resolve important national and international research projects were evaluated in individual faculties. The indicators of the quality of scientific activities that had been obtained were then compared with corresponding indicators from top European universities, such as Heidelberg University and KU Leuven.
The results of the evaluation ranked the Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové (FoP CU) together with the Faculty of Arts, The First Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, and the Faculty of Science among the top faculties at Charles University in terms of scientific activities; all of them were equally evaluated with the highest achieved grade of B+ (on an A to D scale).
In its final evaluation report, the Council for Evaluation highlighted top-quality results in both main research areas at FoP CU, i.e. in the fields of pharmacy and pharmacology, and chemistry, and it also mentioned successfully resolved major European projects and quality cooperation with foreign universities and institutions. The Council also mentioned the high-quality doctoral degree programmes that are among the most successful at Charles University, and related support for young beginning members of academic and research staff.
These excellent evaluation results can be contributed to all staff and students of the faculty who have recently been involved with scientific activities. It is now up to them to further develop their scientific work at the Faculty of Pharmacy and bring it even closer to top European universities and research institutions.
