The government has announced additional measures that should limit contacts between people and help to stop the virus from spreading. The measures become effective tomorrow, October 28 and will last until November, 3 when their effects will be reassessed.
The announcement of the above decisions does not affect the decision regulating the activities and teaching at universities as well as the accommodation of students in dormitories, ie in particular the resolutions of the Government of the Czech Republic No. 997 and 1022/2020. Practical lectures will continue.
Overnight curfew
From 9pm to 4.59am people are not allowed to leave their homes, with the exception of commuting to work, buying medicine and caring for family members and elderly. Walking your dog within 500 meters from your home is allowed.
Limited opening hours for shops
All shops that are currently allowed to open have to close at 8 pm. This includes grocery stores and big supermarkets. Exceptions are given to gas stations, pharmacies and shops in airports,bus/train stations. All shops have to be closed on Sundays. This doesn’t apply to restaurants - they can sell takeaway food on Sundays.
Other previously announced measures remain valid.
