The prize of Arnošt z Pardubic for a team from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové


A team of authors from the group of Cardiovascular and respiratory pharmacology and toxicology of our faculty and their collaborators from the Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové received at the occasion of the International students day from the hands of the rector one of the most prestigious pedagogic awards of the Charles University - the Arnošt z Pardubic Prize for an outstanding initiative in educational activities at Charles University.


The award was given based on a recommendation of a 9-member scientific committee, which has highly appreciated the international project TOX-OER ( targeted for the education of toxicology by using freely available e-learning materials. The project was prepared by 7 European universities and education institutions in 8 European languages. From our faculty, the award was given to Assoc. Prof. Přemysl Mladěnka, Pharm.D., Ph.D.; Jana Pourová, Pharm.D., Ph.D.; Marie Vopršalová, Pharm.D., Ph.D. and Lenka Applová, Ph.D.; from the Faculty of Medicine to Assoc. Prof. Michaela Adamcová, M.D., Ph.D and Assoc. Prof. Martin Štěrba, Pharm.D., Ph.D. The key role of these team members lied in particular in preparation of novel studying materials on the topic of toxicology of cardiovascular and respiratory system and heavy metals, organization of a week-long intensive student course, project propagation and translation of all other study materials to the Czech language. The group also successfully harmonized the pedagogic-scientific outcomes which can be clearly documented by the publication Mladěnka et al.,  2008 Comprehensive review of cardiovascular toxicity of drugs and related agents in the journal Medicinal Research Review with IF 8.8.
