Basic trend in research is the analysis of factors that influence the therapeutic value, consumption and need of drugs. Simultaneously the historical continuity of various activities in pharmaceutical professions is studied.
This Department develops methods in pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacoeconomics, studies differences in drug policy of foreign countries, analyses accessible database systems focused on the drug, patient and diagnosis too. Methods observing the quality of life are developped currently. The influence of actual changes in all spheres of healthcare and manipulation with drugs upon the patients´ compliance and adherence is statistically recorded. A specific problem is the analysis and documentation of drug errors and factors which might improve the situation.
