Sigma-hole interaction as a powerful tool of modern organic chemistry

Annotation: This work will be done under the supervision of Dr. Tomáš Hodík. Sigma-Hole interaction has been sparingly studied although the strength of this noncovalent interaction can reach values comparable to conventional hydrogen bonding under certain circumstances which makes the chalcogen atom-containing organocatalysts to be promising candidates to promote chemical transformations. Here, the novel diverse organocatalysts allowing sigma-hole interaction will be designed and applied in chemical transformations to develop novel organocatalytic concepts.
