Synthesis of 3-Alkyl- and 3-Arylsulfanyl-1,3-diphenylpropan-1-ones and Their Effects on Two Photosynthesizing Organisms

Summary

A series of Michael adducts of chalcone with various thiols was prepared in high yields by a novel method. The ¹H NMR and ¹³C NMR spectra were recorded. Effect on the chlorophyll production in Chlorella vulgaris and oxygen evolution rate in spinach chloroplasts was tested.
