Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, offers postdoctoral fellowships to young Ph.D. graduates according to the operational programme ECOP, registration number CZ.1.07/2.3.00/30.0061, Increasing of the R&D capacity at Charles University through new positions for graduates of doctoral studies, Czech Republic, from 1.7.2012 to 30.6.2015.

Postdoctoral positions are available in these topics of research:

  1. Study of human membrane-bound enzymes with potential clinical relevance
  2. Pathobiochemistry of oxidative stress and search for potential cytoprotective agents
  3. Molecular parasitology                       
  4. Synthesis of new drugs and prodrug forms having antibacterial and antifungal activity
  5. Skin barrier lipids in health and disease
  6. Transition metals in organic synthesis
  7. Organic synthesis
  8. Interactions of drugs with selected membrane transport systems
  9. Development of chromatographic methods for the analysis of drugs/drug candidates in biological materials
  10. Synthesis and applications of phthalocyanines and related compounds
  11. Capillary electrophoretic methods in the analysis of biologically active substances
  12. Automation in analytical chemistry using flow methods
  13. Development of bioanalytical separation methods
  14. Transforming growth-beta signaling in cells involved in atherogenesis
  15. Pharmaceutical chemistry

Successful applicants will receive the basic salary of 40.000,- CZK. Additional financial support includes participation in international congresses as well as 3-6 months stay at foreign University. The postdoctoral fellow is expected to participate in research, teaching activities and prepare seminars/workshops in his topic of research.

Selection criteria for application:          

  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree in the field of application awarded after 27th March 2008 (inc.),
  • good knowledge of Czech or English language,
  • practice or experimental work in the respective area of research and solid publication record
    (number of publications as the first author, impact factor and citations).
